I first saw this product at my relative's house and thought it worked very well, which is why I decided to purchase one. It provided a strong scent to the bottom floor of their house, where it was placed (the bottom floor of their house is bigger than my tiny apt. which is maybe 3-400 sq. ft. big. Naturally, since the product worked so well at their house I expected the smell to flood the apt. They used a candle from Salt City.). The candle that came with the lamp has a strong smell without lighting it or anything (I got apples n' spice). It's just about strong enough of a smell that I don't need the warmer to enhance the smell. In order to test how well the lamp worked, I decided that I would use a cheap-o, Mainstays brand candle (22oz) that you could only smell if you put your nose up to the candle when not lit. To be honest, my experience at this point has been that there has been little, if not no, difference between using this lamp and a regular lamp with a regular light bulb (we had a regular lamp that could curve over the candle, like the warmer does, and it gives us basically the same results as the "special" candle warmer. Of course, it looked way cheesier than using the actual candle warmer). In fact, it's taken over an hour before it scents up the room, and it hardly does even so. I have the apples n' spice candle, unlit, next to the other candle that's under the lamp, and I honestly can smell that one more than the one under the lamp. I can only smell the other candle if I'm only within about 3 feet from the lamp. So I've decided that in order for the smell of the candle to truly permeate the whole house, I would suggest using a candle that'll have a strong scent to begin with. The lamp doesn't seem to do too much for cheap candles.

I just got this a few days ago and love it!! It is so pretty and gives off a very nice glow. I have it in my kitchen counter.. and in a matter of minutes the wax started to melt and the house smells delicious!! I used an ordinary jar candle I bought from Michaels. The smell is so strong.. that we can smell it all the way in my 2nd floor of my house. I have ordered 2 more for myself. And will buy again for gifts! Great buy for the $ and long gone is the black smoke from burning regular candles.

I purchased this product last year and friends and family have raved about it, so I picked up 2 more this year for gifts. This is a great product and I love the fact that I can have the scent of candles without the danger of a flame. The only con is that the wax does not burn away as with a flame so after a while there is no scent until you pour off some of the melted wax and this is a messy job. Otherwise would have given it 5 stars.
