After doing a fair amount of research for cookware within my budget, I decided on this set. I have to say, I couldn't be happier. The construction is superb, the weight is nice and heavy, and the value per pan for this Amazon.com exclusive is awesome. If you would like to see more reviews on this set, look at the Gourmet Essentials 10-piece set. The 14 piece also includes a wok-shaped 11 inch make-anything pan with a lid and large heavy saute pan with a lid.
I was a little disappointed to find out that the lids are not glass, but stainless as well (it does mention what kind of lids they are in the description, although I wasn't paying close enough attention). However, after some additional research and use, I found out that most higher end sets do not use glass lids (glass forms more condensation on the outside of them than the stainless), and that I kind of like the stainless lids better. They are easier to clean for one!
At any rate, the rest of the details are great. They are made from a nice solid 18/10 SS, so nothing cheap here, and they have not become very spotty or hazy with thorough and quick cleaning. I am now a fan of stainless vs non-stick and with this set, you may very well become one too. I highly recommend this product.

I got stuck with an electric glasstop stove in my new home. I bought a Calphalon cookware set, hoping to conquer the problem. Several of the Calphalon pans spun or warped after one use. (Calphalons customer service was excellent to deal with) KitchenAid was half the price and they don't spin on the glass top and nothing has warped. So far, after 3 weeks of use from a non serious cook, I am happy; nothing has warped or spun. I have had no problems with cleaning. The only thing that sticks while cooking is eggs and that cleans up easily. The handles have soft covers on them and that is wonderful, no pot holders, no worries about forgetting and grabbing a hot lid or handle.

After 26 years it was time to replace our old Farberware.
Hoping to find another set that would last just as long, I began my research with Consumer Reports, which helped narrow the search to a few contenders.
Ultimately, I was sold on Kitchenaid after reading so many positive reviews on the 10 piece set.
(I ordered the 12 piece.) After receiving our set, I have to agree. They look and feel expensive
The weight is perfect----they don't slip or spin like our old set on our glass cooktop.
I'm looking forward to many years of use.
